Addo Novo
Co-founder, President
In 2007, I co-founded Addo Novo, a modern furniture store in Portland, Maine, with a collection of 50 products. Within two years, the collection grew to more than 2,000 pieces of modern furniture and accessories from emerging and revered designers, such as Eames, Saarinen, and Jacobsen.
In 2011, Addo Novo expanded to a second location in Boston’s South End. We continued to grow our catalog (to 5,000+ SKUs) and built an robust e-commerce presence to reach a national audience. Addo Novo was named Best of Boston modern furniture store in 2013.
Houston SPCA
VP of Advancement & Communications
The Houston SPCA is one of the leading animal rescue and protection organizations in the United States. While at that HSPCA, I filled two vital roles while at the organization.
As director of communications, I evolved HSPCA’s brand, produced award-winning marketing materials, and directed the development of a new website that attracts more than 1 million visitors annually. I also acted as the liaison with the media for television and radio interviews.
As vice president of advancement, I managed fundraising efforts, which total more than $11 million annually. I also helped organize a $27 million capital campaign, which in part supported a new 12-acre “Campus for All Animals.”
More Advertising, causemedia
Principal, Creative Director, Chief reative Strategist
At More Advertising (formerly Causemedia), I was responsible for leading creative teams and directing hundreds of campaigns focused on cause and social-related issues. I worked at the Boston metro agency over the course of two decades, serving as a principal, creative director, and creative strategist.
Notable work includes awareness campaigns focused on COVID-19 safety and vaccines and gay men’s health for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, a video campaign (working as a DEI consultant) for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA), and annual reports for various organizations, including BCBSMA and the Boston Red Sox Foundation.
Design Within Reach
Principal, Creative Director, Creative Strategist
As area manager for Design Within Reach, I managed the Southern US territory consisting of four metro areas—Houston, Dallas, Austin, and New Orleans—with a total operating budget of $50 million and a team of up to 45 employees across the four locations.
In 2014, I led the opening of Houston’s flagship studio, a 10,000-square-foot design showroom in Highland Village.
